Sony FE 85mm F1.8

Sony FE 85mm F1.8 (SEL85F18): The Definitive Choice for Breathtaking Portraits For portrait and event photographers, nothing matches the rendering and subject isolation of a dedicated medium-telephoto prime. The Sony FE 85mm F1.8 (Model: SEL85F18) delivers the ideal combination of optical sharpness, creamy background defocusing, and exceptional portability. Weighing a mere 371 g (13.1 oz), this compact prime pairs seamlessly with Sony's full-frame Alpha mirrorless bodies and APS-C cameras (offering a versatile 127.5mm equivalent reach), making it an essential addition to any photographer's kit.

Exquisite Bokeh & Edge-to-Edge Sharpness Experience optical clarity that makes your subjects stand out. Featuring a bright F1.8 maximum aperture and a 9-blade circular aperture, the lens produces soft, cinematic bokeh with circular out-of-focus highlights. The optical configuration incorporates an Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass element that suppresses chromatic aberrations and secondary color artifacts, ensuring crisp micro-contrast and true-to-life skin tones across the entire frame.

Silent, High-Speed Dual Linear Motor Autofocus Never miss a spontaneous expression or a passing moment. Driven by a dual linear motor system, the internal focus group moves swiftly and accurately without the mechanical chatter of traditional gears. This whisper-quiet AF drive is invaluable for both quiet event photography and high-resolution 4K/8K video recording where internal lens noise cannot interfere with external microphones.

Ergonomic Control & Rugged Weather Sealing Crafted with tactile precision, the FE 85mm F1.8 features a wide, responsive focus ring for smooth manual adjustments. The customizable focus hold button can be tailored via your camera menu to execute Eye AF, grid-line toggles, or preview functions at a thumb's press. Built to withstand demanding commercial and travel assignments, the exterior chassis features a dust- and moisture-resistant design for reliable performance outdoors.
