Sony FE 28-70mm F2 GM (SEL2870GM): The Prime-Rivaling Constant F2 Standard Zoom Redefine your creative possibilities and lighten your gear bag with the Sony FE 28-70mm F2 GM. As the world's first G Master standard zoom to achieve a constant F2 maximum aperture, this groundbreaking lens eliminates the trade-off between the flexibility of a zoom and the optical rendering of high-end prime lenses. Engineered for commercial portrait photographers, high-stakes wedding filmmakers, and event shooters across the UAE, it delivers unprecedented creative depth and low-light versatility.
Prime-Grade Optical Purity Across the Entire Range Step up to resolution that pushes high-megapixel full-frame sensors to their full potential. The optical configuration incorporates three advanced XA (extreme aspherical) elements manufactured with sub-micron precision to guarantee pristine corner-to-corner sharpness wide open at F2. Chromatic aberration is rigorously suppressed via one ED and three Super ED glass elements, while Sony’s Nano AR Coating II effectively eradicates internal reflections, flare, and ghosting when shooting directly into harsh sunlight or backlight.
Exquisite G Master Bokeh and Dimensional Rendering Harness the shallow depth of field of an F2 prime with the framing speed of a zoom. An innovative 11-blade circular aperture unit, combined with strict spherical aberration tuning, creates smooth, creamy bokeh that isolates subjects naturally. Floating focus elements ensure pin-sharp clarity down to a close-focusing distance of just 0.38 m (1.25 ft), giving you extreme versatility from expansive group environmental shots to intimate, high-impact portraits.
Quad XD Linear Motor Drive Built for 120 fps Tracking Never drop focus during critical, unrepeatable moments. The large F2 focus group is propelled by four proprietary XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors governed by advanced algorithms. Autofocus response is instantaneous, smooth, and near-silent—effortlessly tracking running athletes and walking brides alike. Crucially, focus tracking remains locked even while actively adjusting the zoom ring, fully unlocking the continuous 120 fps burst rate of cameras like the Sony α9 III.
Cine-Centric Video Ergonomics & Tactical Tactile Control Designed as an indispensable tool for hybrid filmmakers, the FE 28-70mm F2 GM features subdued focus breathing for natural, stable focus pulls during 4K 120p and FHD 240p takes. The aperture ring includes an instant Click ON/OFF toggle for smooth, silent iris adjustments, alongside a dedicated Iris Lock switch and adjustable zoom torque tension. Encased in a rugged, dust- and moisture-resistant magnesium-alloy chassis weighing just 918 g, this lens sets a brand-new standard for mobile, professional visual expression.
