Insta360 X4: Elevating 360° Capture with 8K Video and Enhanced Features
Insta360 has officially unveiled the X4, its latest flagship spherical camera, setting a new standard with 8K 360° video and 4K standard 2D video capabilities. With a 50% boost in battery performance and upgraded features, the Insta360 X4 builds on the legacy of its predecessors, known for leading the consumer spherical video market.
Expanded Features and Unmatched 8K Resolution
The Insta360 X4 offers more tools than ever for creating 360° content, and its improved resolution makes it a powerful action cam in single-lens mode. While resolution enhancements might seem less critical for 2D video, they’re game-changing for VR experiences, making footage look sharper and more immersive when viewed in VR goggles.
Capture Details Like Never Before in 72MP Photos
When it comes to photography, the X4 allows users to capture stunning 72MP spherical panoramas, now powered by AI-driven noise reduction for pristine quality in every shot.
Redefined Stabilization and Easy Editing
Insta360 cameras have always impressed with their stabilization capabilities, and the X4 is no exception. With horizon-locking stabilization, HDR mode, timelapse options, and loop recording, the camera ensures versatile capture options for all scenarios. It also supports Insta360’s impressive “selfie stick removal” feature, allowing for third-person view shots without the stick appearing in the footage.
Packed with Features in a Familiar Design
While the design of the Insta360 X4 may closely resemble its predecessor, measuring 123.6 × 46 × 26.3 mm and weighing in at 203 grams, the changes lie within. Equipped with a new AI-powered processor and dual 1/2" sensors paired with a bright f/1.9 lens with a 6.7mm focal length, the X4 is capable of capturing 8K 30p video—a significant leap from the previous 5.7K. For high-frame-rate fans, it offers 5.7K at 60 fps or 4K at 100 fps.
Audio capture has also been upgraded, offering 48kHz 16-bit AAC audio with wind noise reduction and directional focus modes.
Power and Performance for Extended Shooting
One of the most impactful upgrades is the X4's 2290 mAh battery, which offers up to 135 minutes of recording time at 5.7K 30p. Even at 8K 30p, the battery can power the camera for 70 minutes on a single charge, with a full recharge taking just 60 minutes via USB-C.
